Locals carry a motorcycle across a flooded river after heavy rain from typhoon Mitag in the Philippines.

Seven men picked up the bike and waded through the overflowing river in Masbate province on Tuesday (01/10).

The deluge made it hard for locals to leave their village in the town of Jamorawon.

Heavy rains were brought by tropical storm Onyok, which evolved into a typhoon named Mitag travelling north towards Taiwan, Japan and Korea.

Resident Marlon Cabug said: "This is a common scenario during typhoons, but we did not have a choice because it's the only way out. I think our bridge needs some renovation to make it higher."
