Brave shop assistant takes down suspected thief like a Hollywood action hero
A brave shop assistant in Malaysia chased a suspected robber and took him down like a Hollywood action hero.
The shopper in a red cap fled after he allegedly stole items from the hypermarket NSK Trade City in Selangor state, Malaysia.
CCTV footage from September 24 shows how the man darted past the member of staff, which caught his attention.
The shop assistant ran after the robber and dived towards him - sending them both sliding along the floor.
The alleged thief tried to wrestle his way out of the tangled before the others shoppers helped to pin him down.
Several more shoppers crowded round to subdue the man before police arrived and arrested him.
The NSK Trade CIty shopping mall said in a statement that the alleged shoplifter had been taken away by police for questioning.
They added: ''We have given CCTV evidence to police and they will investigate what happened fully. We are very thankful to the staff member who caught the thief and everyone who helped.''
