A hero policeman saved a stray kitten that had become stuck inside a pickup truck.

Businessman Pibul Petchnark, 77, was looking at the vehicle to buy when he heard a meow from under the engine in Chumphon, southern Thailand, on September 15.

The motorist then called the police and Sergeant Major Sunan Nakchua arrived to help him locate the poor puss. 

The policeman had to lay on the ground and reach up into the mechanisms to find the kitten.

Eventually, the policeman found the two-month-old kitten next to the fuel tank and helped him to safety.

The businessman praised the policeman from his dedication.

He said: "I came from Bangkok to buy this pickup truck but unfortunately a kitten was stuck under it.

"Thankfully, there was this policeman who ignored the pouring rain and crawled under the car to save the poor puss.''

The kitten has now had a stroke of luck after the policeman adopted him while the businessman will send the cat food.
