Surfers took to the sea as Storm Lorenzo brought rough waves to Cornwall on October 4.

One brave surfer ran along the seawall and dived into the choppy waves before getting back onto his board.

Ex-hurricane Lorenzo has sent high winds and powerful waves which are battering the Cornish coast today. Wave watchers try to photograph huge plumes of spray as the waves hit the cliffs. you can hear someone's disappointment on the video as they miss a photo of a large burst.

Heavy waves churn against the recently placid holiday beach of Sennen, but the storm conditions are a boon for surfers, who brave the elements for the chance of a spectacular ride, and to get 'stoked' on the first of the autumnal storms.
