A taxi driver salute to the traffic sign as a punishment for violating the forbidden sign on a road in Indonesia.

In footage filmed on October 1 in Bukittinggi shows traffic warden taking taxi driver to crossroad to punish him salute to forbidden traffic signs which violated.

The officer named Triyanto said he had warned the driver when violating traffic as entering a one-way street, then arrested the driver when he stopped to dropping passengers at a hotel not far from the traffic warden post.

"We punish the driver to salute the sign so that he will be warry because he will be embarrassed to be seen by the onlookers, in the hope on next time he will obey the rules. The people who see it also make this an example not to be imitated," Triyanto said.

Meanwhile, the driver told the officers he dared to violate traffic signs as destination was close and would reverse direction after lowering passengers.

After undergo the punishment and apologizing to the officer the driver continued his journey.
