This is the moment a wild python regurgitated a farmer's prized rooster.

Nakorn Wongbandit, 50, was shocked to see one of his beloved fighting cocks eaten by the huge snake which raided the coop in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand.

The breeder was scared that the ravenous python would devour more than one bird so called the emergency services.

Footage taken last Friday (October 4) shows how the 13ft long python writhed uncomfortably on the ground before widening its jaws and spitting out the slime-covered rooster.

The rescuers were able to snare the exhausted python - without its ill-gotten lunch which lay dead on the ground.

Nakorn said he was disappointed that his rooster had been lost to the unwelcome predator.

He said: "I raised eight of the birds and they were all very precious to me. I once refused a large amount of money just to keep them with me.

"However, this morning I heard a frightened sound from the coop and it was so upsetting to see a python had swallowed the bird and I received nothing in return."

The python was put in a sack before it was released back into the wild away from people.
