Cool slow motion video captures cooling towers demolished by controlled explosives

Cooling Towers at a Yorkshire Power Station were demolished by controlled explosives this morning (Sunday 13th October)
The 4 towers were among 5 cooling towers at Ferrybridge Power Station that have been scheduled for demolition since the plants closure in 2016. Footage shows slow motion of the towers disappearing below the horizon into a cloud of dust.
The event saw 1000s of spectators from across the region turn up to watch the controlled explosion, causing congestion to the area.
Roads were closed and rolling road blocks were put in place for the A1M & M62 motorways while the demolition took place.
Earlier in the year,29th July, a test blast was carried out on one other cooling tower on the which saw the tower come crashing down in seconds.
