Territorial squirrel is 'shaking mad' in adorable display

Squirrels can be very vocal animals, chattering, growling and screeching; and a person who doesn't know them would think the call comes from a bird. But not only they vocalize a lot, they can do a little "dance" along with it, making it a super cute performance!
The Red Squirrel (Tamiasciurus hudsonicus), also known as North American Red Squirrel, American Red Squirrel, and Pine Squirrel or Chickaree, although the last two are also used for another member of the Tamiasciurus genus, the Douglas Squirrel (Tamiasciurus douglasii), is a species of tree squirrel that can be found in most of Canada and the northern half of the United States of America.
It is one of the most territorial of all species of North American squirrels. The adorable behavior observed in this video is actually a territorial display. Yong individuals must acquire a territory before their first winter in order to survive. The territory can be obtained by competition over a vacant one, or by creating a new territory. Another possibility is inheriting it from their mothers.
They may migrate for short distances when food is scarce, cutting green pine cones in the fall, and storing them in the ground. Nuts and seeds are also stored underground, under logs, and at the base of trees, making the North American Red Squirrel an important seed spreader, as it doesn't always eat them all. They also eat insects, bark, fruits, and mushrooms, and sometimes even young birds, mice, and rabbit, although a great part of its diet consists of pine seeds.
