This is the moment officials from a local fire department hauled a large bull from a 40ft deep well in India.

Video filmed by a local journalist who was alerted to the operation, which took two hours, in Hardoi city, shows a group of men pulling the bull up with a rope.

According to the journalist, fire department workers filled the well with water by using hoses top aid their rescue of the animal, which is thought to have weighed around 250kg.

The rescue took place on October 11.
