A couple have built one a SNAIL farm keeping 2,000 in a FRIDGE - and now plan to expand to 300,000 by creating a mollusc 'love room'. Lyn and Rob Paxman decided to transform their seven-acre home and set up as snail retailers. The pair will soon be selling snail meat and egg caviar - as well as slime which is used in anti-wrinkle cream and other beauty products. The couple currently keep their 2,000 snails in a fridge - but are set to expand and farm 300,000 molluscs at their home in West Buckland, Somerset. Breeding will take place in controlled 'rooms' designed to trick hibernating snails into thinking it is Spring.
