This is the moment two Extinction Rebellion protesters were dragged off the roof of a London tube by angry commuters.

Video footage shows the eco-warriors climbing on top of the train at Canning Town station, east London, appearing to taunt rush-hour commuters with disruption to the service.

Commuters could be seen throwing food at one of the activists before a livid commuter launched himself at the protester, managing to grab the activist's leg and pull him to the ground - which was met with applause.

As one of the protesters kicked a commuter to stop him from climbing up the carriage, the man managed to grab the activist's leg and pull him to the ground - which was met with applause along the platform.
