Rescuer workers picked a car window lock after a toddler accidentally locked herself inside.

The mother of the two-year-old girl left her daughter in the passenger seat while she was loading shopping into the boot in Chonburi, Thailand on Sunday (20/10) night.

But the little girl, named Mheekeaw, pulled the door shut, which triggered the automatic lock system.

The panic-stricken mother was shocked to see the car locked and she called the rescue team for help.

Volunteers had to pick the car lock to rescue the youngster before she was suffocated inside the heat in the car park.

The relieved mother, Ning, said that she tried to instruct the girl how to unlock the door but failed.

She said: "I tried to be calm and shouted to my daughter, telling her to push the unlock button but she was too young to understand, so I had to call for help.

"Thanks to the rescuer volunteers my daughter was saved. I admit, it happened because of my carelessness.''
