A caring schoolboy takes a plastic chair to class with him every day - so he can help his disabled mum climb into the bus.

Five-year-old Arnil Retita, from Bohol, the Philippines lugs the chair from their home to the bus stop while his mother, Victoria Lungay, 40, struggles behind.

He then carefully lays the stool on the ground so his mum can climb into the bus and travel with him to school.

When the mother and son reach the school some 30 minutes away, Arnil helps her climb down before she sees him off at the school gate.

Victoria then visits a nearby market or had coffee in the school canteen to wait for her son to finish and they ride home together.

The sweet moment was filmed by passenger Ronald Casil on July 22.

He said that they always see the mother and son every day so the jeepney drivers know to wait for them when they see the boy.

He said: "Sometimes, they do not have money for fare so they ask nicely if they can ride for free. The drivers are kind enough to take them to school every day.

''It is a very sweet example of a boy taking care of his mother. They are very close.''
