Hundreds of workers of the Municipal Transport Company (EMT) has concentrated on Thursday at the gates of the City of Madrid to claim "more workers" and denounce the "malfunction" of the bus service for the "lack of planning" of the co-government of the PP and Cs.

The EMT company committee has convened this concentration to protest the "stoppage" of 85 hiring of drivers that were already approved by the previous municipal team of Manuela Carmena. "It seems that José Luis Martínez Almeida's intentions with the EMT is the same as with Bicimad, he wants to privatize it," said the deputy secretary of the EMT union, Luis Ortega, who added that "the EMT is a treat for certain entrepreneurs ".

For his part, the representative of the Workers Commissions in the EMT, José Ignacio González, have insisted that they will continue with the mobilizations until the Consistory "corrects the situation" because thousands of travelers are being lost "daily."

He pointed out that there are currently more than 300 drivers missing and these problems will be aggravated by the new lines in the center or to the hospital centers and the substitute service before the closure of Metro line 4.
