This was the moment a delivery driver in California found himself speeding through clouds of smoke after the Tick Fire engulf the side of the highway.

Shot on October 25 along Freeway 14 footage shows fires dotted around the hillside as orange glows through the enveloping smoke.

The filmer explained: "Around 2:23 am, while en route to deliver some sand for Sky - a cement company I’m contracted through - I found myself driving through this outrageous fire.

"I was aware there were fires burning, but didn’t think I’d be driving through this 'Tick fire' because just about 40 minutes earlier the fire was quite a distance from the freeway, but with the very high winds blowing north to south at the time spread the fire pretty quick."
