Thousands of supporters of Spain's far-right Vox party gathered in Plaza de Colón in Madrid on Saturday to defend what they described as "the unity of Spain."

Some were seen giving Fascist salutes while others waved Spanish flags bearing the image of former dictator Francisco Franco.

The gathering came as demonstrators in Catalonia vowed to continue protesting against recent lengthy jail terms for the some of the region's separatist leaders.

This Wednesday it was celebrated the call a rally in the Plaza de Colón in Madrid noon to defend «the unity of Spain, the constitutional order and national coexistence».

The party led by Santiago Abascal VOX has called on the population to concentrate on Madrid on the same day that Tsunami Democràtic had announced that it would resume its protest actions for the Supreme Court ruling against those responsible for the «procés». People celebrate this meeting with flags of Franco and flags of Spain.
