Drivers faced misery for the 2nd time in weeks on a road in Yorkshire, as rainfall caused the River Aire to burst it's banks in Castleford.
Barnsdale Road is a main road between Allerton Bywater & Castleford that last flooded just less than a month ago on the 29th September. Although it is well known for flooding, motorists risked driving through the floods or be faced with a long diversion. One driver who went through and became stuck said "I only did it for a laugh"
A number of other vehicles were left stranded, while other drivers made it through as well as cyclists.
Heavy rain fell for 24 hours across the country with up to 70mm in some parts of the region.
