Turboprop Battles Against Strong Crosswind during Landing at Bristol Airport

Buy video

Today's video is a short clip filmed at Bristol International Airport on 25th October 2019, showing a Blue Islands (Flybe) ATR72 battling against a very strong crosswind during landing.

With winds gusting up to 43 knots straight across the runway forecast, I headed up to Bristol Airport (BRS/EGGD) to see some of the action. Unfortunately the wind only really began to worsen as it was getting dark but I did manage to catch this shot of a Blue Islands (operating for Flybe, BE6482) ATR72-500 having a hard time on the approach and landing. The wind at the time was somewhere in the region of 20016G26kts (200 degrees at 16 knots, gusts of 26 knots).
