Residents in northern India tossed their children into piles of cow dung on an auspicious day for Hindus to give them good luck.
Residents of Betul, Madhya Pradesh were filmed tossed their children into the smelly pile on October 28, the day of Gorvadhan Pooja.
It is believed to bring the children good luck and to keep them healthy, even if takes their little ones being covered in a pile of cow dung.
The traditional has been practised for centuries and the locals have said that it has benefited their children.
