Toddbrook Reservoir Dam crisis - people & agencies involved
Filmed at the other side of the reservoir dam to the Sailing Club side, this part of the village is our sports field. It's now 'central control' for the disasters emergency team, and the only possible access point for every bit of heavy plant, vehicular and personnel assembly point. Over 1,000 men and women descended on the village from about 25 agencies, organisations and businesses.
(My poor 80-year old mum lives at the site - on one side of the single track path onto the field. She showed true grit, a Dunkirk Spirit, and presence of mind during this overwhleming situation in our quiet rural village).
