A resident of Hewlett, New York was left puzzled after the sky started flickering and changing colours on October 31.

Steven Heimowitz told Newsflare: "I was taken off guard, more than anything else. It was the middle of the night, and here the sky was as bright as day!

"My first thought was something had gone very, very wrong. It turns out, though, that it was a transformer station bursting. They say everything will be okay.

"Walking the streets immediately afterwards was eerie. There were a cadre of police cars racing towards Hewlett and the electrical wires overhead were loudly buzzing with noise.

"I asked a PSEG guy and a policeman if they knew what it was and both told me it was an electrical shortage."

I was going for a run in Hewlett when suddenly the sky turned a bright shade of blue, accompanied by a loud buzzing noise. I pulled out my phone and was able to capture this footage of it.
This happened on Halloween, October 31st, 2019.
