Hundreds of bees swarm a woman's pastry stand at a market in Uzbekistan
Hundreds of honey bees swarm a woman's pastry stand.
While traveling through Uzbekistan, I stopped at this market to pick up some snacks. I was shocked to see this woman's pastry stand surrounded by buzzing bees. She didn't seem bothered at all though, in fact it seemed normal to her. Intrigued, I bought a small bag for 5000 Uzbek Som (around fifty cents) Upon receiving the bag, I noticed she also served me six live honeybees inside!
An English speaker then told me that the bees don't sting, and that they come from a honey seller down the road.
In the end, the pastries tasted great!
