Choas in Hong Kong: tear gas, rubber bullets and petrol bombs
Riot police and pro-democracy protesters fought running battles in the Wan Chai area of Hong Kong on Saturday (November 2nd).
According to an eyewitness, police fired tear gas and rubber bullets at protesters on Hennessy Road who responded with petrol bombs and bricks.
Eyewitnesses and journalists claimed riot police used a new kind of rubber bullet which they believed may have been produced in China.
US senators announced legislation last week calling for a ban on sales of crowd-control munitions to Hong Kong law enforcement services, as unrest in the city entered its fifth month.
The UK banned sales of crowd-control equipment to Hong Kong back in June.
