Spar supermarket workers in East London, South Africa erupted in jubilation when the referee blew for the final whistle at Rugby World in Japan. They had come draped in the Boks' colours. When the manager announced that the Springboks had secured victory everything came to a standstill as workers left their workstations and danced in celebration. For a while the chain supermarket branch was a scene of joy.
