Indian prankster teases trapped leopard, leopard bites back
An Indian villager suffered a nasty wound after trying to play mischief on a leopard that was caught in a cage.
Forest officials had placed a cage at Baluvaneralu village near Tiptur in South India to catch a leopard that was preying on the cattle.
On November 1, a local villager Rangappa, 52, and his friends saw that the leopard had stepped into the cage and been trapped. While they waited for the forest officials to arrive, Rangappa decided to have some fun with the animal.
He took a twig with leaves and tried to poke the animal with that. A video shot by one of his friends shows many in the group warning him against getting too close to the animal.
But Rangappa ignored the warning and continued to tease the animal.
The furious leopard bit the twig and pulled it with an unexpected force making Rangappa lose balance and stumble.
The leopard got hold of Rangappa and sunk its teeth into his right arm inflicting a deep gash.
His friends took him to a nearby hospital where doctors treated his wound and let him go with a word of advise.
