Stunning starling murmuration sees thousands of birds twist and turn across the sky in Gretna, Scotland, eclipsing the moon on November 5.

At this time of the year, enormous numbers of starlings move into the UK from Eastern Europe to benefit from our warmer climate. They join together to form huge roosts sometimes numbering into the thousands as the video shows at this site near Gretna Scotland. Many people travel long distances to watch this wonderful spectacle of acrobatics which they proform to get away from a hunting bird of prey.
If you have the sound on you can hear the birds and the delighted watcher. After the starlings dropped into the roost site for the night, we all gave them a round of applause!
