This is the bizarre moment locals take part in a strange mass exorcism ritual in northern India's Bihar.

The incident took place in Vaishali district's Hajipur city on Nov. 8.

Visuals show men draped in yellow dhoti (a light garment worn by men around their waist in India) and vest dancing to the beat of drums.

Soon, a few women also join the men and they dance together while holding wooden sticks and metal objects in their hands.

Another visual shows a man helped by others as he goes into a trance while standing waist-deep in water.

The same also happens with a woman who shivers violently while taking a dip.

A different visual shows a woman sitting in between two men, rocking back and forth while crying loudly.

According to reports, people had flocked to the place to take help of occultists, who stated they were possessed by demons and assured help.
