A hippo at the National Zoological Park in New Delhi, India went right up to the edge of its enclosure to investigate some visitors in this nerve-wracking clip.

The hippo was kept in an enclosure circled only with a low fence, and walked up to within touching distance of the visitors on November 11, but remained calm while watching them.

The visitors took photos and can be heard praising the dangerous animal for how calm it was being, before it eventually returned back to its lake.

The filmer commented: "Such a great bonding between animals and visitors inside zoo."

I was inside National Zoological Park for wildlife photography. I had visited many animals and when I reached the hippopotamus cage, I saw one giant hippo interacting with visitors and visitors also praising hippo for calm nature.
