King cobra caught after rampaging through beauty salon in Thailand
A 10ft-long king cobra was caught after rampaging through a beauty salon.
Terrified hairdressers and customers ran away after the killer snake appeared with its hood flared at the door of the building.
Rescue workers arrived and dragged the snake outside in Trang, Southern Thailand on Tuesday (November 12) afternoon.
Head of Bantao Wangwiset rescue team Sawai Keawjua joked that the cobra ''might have just wanted a beauty treatment."
He said: ''The snake appeared at the front of the door. I can understand why everybody ran away. But maybe the snake only wanted to be beautified.''
Salon owner Khun Saisunee said that the day was going normally until there was "a massive cobra expanding its hood in front of the door'.'
She said: "At first, I was shocked, then I composed myself to figure out what to do next while my customers ran away. Finally, I called the rescuers."
Rescue volunteers said the reptile was not too aggressive and it was easy to catch. It was removed from the beauty salon in only ten minutes, without anyone being injured.
The reptile was stretched out and estimated to be 10ft long. Locals crowded round to seebefore it was released back to the wild.
