One-eyed wild elephant goes on half-hour rampage before disappearing into Indian jungle
A one-eyed wild elephant rampaged through a town in east India, forcing people to flee or risk being trampled.
The incident took place on November 17 in Madarihat town of Alipurduar district of West Bengal, but fortunately there were no injuries reported.
Video shows the wild tusker strolling through the streets of the town as residents run away to steer clear of its path.
According to reports, the locals have named the elephant "Ekchokha" (the one-eyed) as it is blind in one eye.
The elephant entered the town and destroyed a food stall, an auto-rickshaw, a car and an ambulance before leaving for the forest after half an hour.
Forest department officials reached the scene afterwards and tried to direct the elephant deeper back into the wild.
