Children take part in bird therapy event with Brazilian Macaws in southern Thailand
Footage shows children having "bird therapy" with Brazilian Macaws. The group gathered in Trang, southern Thailand, on November 5.
The youngsters, all with learning difficulties or behavioural problems, held the birds and watched them fly across the fields.
Nine-year-old Punyawat Chokesakulwattana, who attended the event, said: "Macaws are an easy pet to look after and they are fun to play with."
The Macaw lover group was established around seven years ago for people who keep the distinctive blue and yellow parrots, as well as different varieties of Macaws.
They recently started holding workshops for troubled children to experience the therapeutic effects of having the birds perched on their hands and seeing them fly.
Macaws are large, colorful South American parrots. Since the 1400s, New World parrots have been known to Europeans.
