Various types of potatoes grown hanging from greenhouse ceiling in China
Various types of potatoes are grown hanging from a greenhouse ceiling at an agricultural technology demonstration centre in China rather than in soil.
The interesting video, filmed in the city of Chengdu in Sichuan Province on November 17, shows the seed potatoes and sweet potatoes hanging from their roots growing in the air.
According to the filmer named Yang, the "air potatoes" were seed potatoes which aren't grown for eating. The aeroponic technologies were used to cultivate the potatoes and sweet potatoes.
Yang said the "air sweet potatoes" were edible but the main purpose of them was for visitors to enjoy the sight of them.
