The new president of the Legislative Assembly, Mario Ponce, officially took office on Tuesday in a solemn act in which the president of the republic Nayib Bukele and the magistrates of the Supreme Court of Justice were present. Ponce, deputy of the National Conciliation Party (PCN), had taken office on November 1 as part of the agreement established at the beginning of this term to replace Norman Quijano, of the ARENA party. During the session, he also assumed the new board of the congress that, like Ponce, was ratified that he will be as president of the Salvadoran Congress until April 30, 2021. "The parliamentary debate must be aimed at treating, discussing, analyzing and look for solutions to the big problems of the country” he said.
