Around 100 vehicles are reported to be stuck due to flooding along the California State Route 62.
The video shows flooding on Highway 177 and cars attempting to drive through the damage.
The filmer told Newsflare: "Heavy flooding in Desert Center on Highway 177 near Eagle Mountain causes drivers to stop or attempt to wade the 4 to 5 foot tall rivers of water.
"At the Vidal Junction and along Highway 62 and 95, dozens of vehicles were reported to have been swept away by the waters with drivers still inside or others trapped.
"California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection is busy with rescue attempts of drivers who have been trapped or swept away."
The footage was captured in the early hours of Wednesday morning (November 20).
