A 10-feet-long venomous snake that crawled up into the battery storage section of the compartment of a moving train was rescued in the north Indian state of Uttarakhand.

The incident took place on Friday (November 22) at the Kathgodam railway station in Nainital district.

Video shows two rescuers using snake tongs to pull out the cobra.

According to the rescuers, some passengers had spotted the cobra sneaking underneath the train compartment and alerted he railway's authorities regarding the venomous reptile's presence in the long-distance express train.

According to reports, the operation was conducted by a joint team consisting of personnel from the Uttarakhand Forest Department and the Railway Protection Force.

The king cobra was later released in the forest.

The incident took place on November 22 at the Kathgodam railway station in Nainital district.

Visual showed two rescuers using snake tongs to pull out the cobra.

According to the rescuers, some passengers had spotted the cobra sneaking underneath the train compartment and altered the railways authorities regarding the venomous reptile's presence in the long-distance express train.

It took them around 15 minutes to zero in on where the cobra was hiding. People travelling on the train heaved a sigh of relief after the joint team deftly pulled the reptile out.

Delayed by around 1 hour due to the invasion of the slithering beast, the train resumed its service afterwards.
