A man who was believed to be shouting and waving his arms at Metropolitan Police outside a bank in Brentford, west London, has been tasered by officers.

The incident happened on Wednesday afternoon (November 27) at around 3pm outside a branch of Barclays Bank on Brentford High Street.

Video shows the man lying on the ground surrounded by officers.

Local media Brentford TV reported: "Two police officers were at the cash machine at Barclays bank this afternoon when a man started shouting and waving his arms at them. The officers warned him and appeared to point something. As the man continued to shout and threaten, there was a spark and a sharp crack and he screamed and fell backwards and started writhing on the pavement.

"A voice says to him: 'Did you want to kill me?'"

Brentford TV also reported: "The officer on the right is holding a yellow taser. He tucks it back into its holster. The man is handcuffed. He vomits. The officers move him on to his side into the recovery position, telling him to breath steadily. Other police cars arrived and an officer can been seen collecting the taser wire (3.40). The man remains very shaky but is helped to sit up. He is still struggling to breath properly and tries to vomit again. After several more minutes he is taken away."
