A truck hung over a riverbank after crashing through the guardrails in eastern China due to a failure in its brakes.

The CCTV clip, filmed in the city of Rui'an in Zhejiang Province on November 22, shows the truck suddenly crashing through the guardrails on the side of the river when it was reversing.

The driver can be seen coming out of the truck hanging off the road and walking back to safety by himself.

According to the truck driver, he used the air brake too often when reversing the truck, causing it to run out of air.

日前，在瑞安市塘下镇塘永线城南村村口一辆满载汽车标准件的大货车气刹突然失灵，冲出河边护栏，车头悬空，十分惊险。
监控画面显示，当天上午8点46分左右，大货车司机曾某上车开始操作车辆倒退，在随后的3分钟时间里，大货车前进后退多次。8点49分许，货车再次前进，直接撞倒河边的垃圾桶、冲破河边石质护栏，径直向河里冲去，最后车头悬挂在了河面。所幸驾驶员曾某并未受伤，随后从副驾驶座方向爬上岸。
瑞安市公安局交警大队塘下中队民警赶到现场处置，只见一辆浙C号牌大货车车头有撞击过的痕迹，悬挂在河边。据大货车驾驶员曾某介绍，他从丽水开车过来，到塘下的汽车标准件厂装货，在厂门口倒车时，因连续刹车，导致货车气刹没气失灵，才径直冲向河边护栏，造成这起事故。
