In the city of Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, state authorities have decided to buy all cattle coats to protect them from the winter cold in northern India.

The Ayodhya Municipal Corporation will stitch up special coats for cows and bulls in the holy city, starting with 1,200 cattle in the Baishingpur shelter.

The bulls will get a single layer coat, cows will get a two-layer garment and calves will be covered with three-layered thermals.

These coats are being stitched at a price of Rs 250 to Rs 300.

Cows are usually given jute bags to save them from the cold. But the jute bags keep falling off.so this time the authorities providing multi-layered jackets. These coats are being stitched at a price of Rs 250 to Rs 300. But in keeping with Orwellian philosophy, the local government seems to have decided that while all animals are equal, some are more equal than the others. So, it has been decided that while cows will get a slick two-layered jute coat with an inner lining to keep them covered, bulls will only get one made from jute. As authorities prepare to make the winter easier for the cows they consider so very sacred, people have differences of opinion.
