A cow in Riau, Indonesia, has given birth to an eight-legged calf which has three legs on its back and one next to its tail.

A female mother in the Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry of the Sultan Syarif Kasim State Islamic University (Fapertapet UIN Suska) Riau, gave birth to an eight-legged calf. The birth of the female calf with eight legs, is the first time it has happened at UIN Suska. At the Fapertapet campus, the calf that is one week old has eight legs.
Four normal legs like a normal cow, and three legs on the back and one other foot on the tail.
Three legs on the back, appear to hang like two normal size feet and one small size foot, while at the tail there is one normal size foot. When walking, the cow is slightly swaying because his right rear leg is several cm lower than the other leg.
Veterinary medical staff of Fapertapet UIN Suska, drh Wan Trides, explained that the baby cow was born with a normal process. For the initial diagnosis Trides suspects this is polyimeria or organ overload
