The Marina Beach in Chennai, south India is covered with multiple layers of white foam caused by pollution flowing into the ocean.

This has recurred frequently since October, with footage seen here from November 29 showing the foam covering a 7km stretch of coast from Foreshore estate to Thiruvanmiyur.

Reportedly heavy rains had brought down chemical compounds and organic substrates into the ocean that whipped up the foam.

Chennai famous Marine Beach was covered with multiple layers of white foam like substance on 29th November, this is not the first such incident that Marine beach is covered with froth. In October end this year similar sight was witnessed by locals .This time about a seven KM stretch of beach from foreshore estate to tiruvanmiyur is covered with froth. According to Expert, due to heavy rains from last couple of days, a lot of organic substrate and toxics flowed in ocean which in result caused foam.
Similar type of incidents witnessed in past in Bengaluru Benlandur lake and Delhi's Yamuna river
