A road suddenly collapsed in southern China swallowing a cleaning truck and an electric bike, leaving three people missing.

The video, filmed in the city of Guangzhou in Guangdong Province on December 1, shows a cleaning truck suddenly falling into a sinkhole that opened up underneath it.

In another clip, the sinkhole kept expanding after the incident. Nearby people were scared and screaming out.

According to reports, three people were trapped inside the sinkhole and are still missing.

Line 11 of the Guangzhou Metro was under-construction under the section of the road. All construction workers have been evacuated safely.

The rescue work is underway and the case is being investigated.

广州市政府新闻办1日晚举行新闻发布会通报，当日发生的地陷事故导致3人被困，截至晚间仍失联。由于事发现场多次发生塌陷，塌陷范围不断扩大，导致施救行动多次受阻。
1日上午9时28分，在广州大道北与禺东西路交界处地面出现塌陷。途经该区域的1辆清污车和1部电动单车掉落其中，3人被困。事发路段为广州地铁11号线沙河站施工区域。

事故发生后，广州市成立应急救援指挥部，全力搜救被困人员。相关部门对周边路面和建筑物进行监测，关停周边自来水、燃气等管线，防止发生次生灾害。

广州地铁集团建设总部总经理孙成伟在发布会上说，由于现场多次发生塌陷，塌陷范围不断扩大，导致施救行动多次受阻，且危及塌陷区周边安全。为避免塌陷区域进一步扩大，现正进行局部回填，加固边坡防止再次塌方。

目前，隧道内施工人员已全部安全撤离。事件未对正在运营的地铁线路造成影响。事故原因正在调查中。
