Residents of a typhoon-ravaged town in the Philippines are stranded after the only bridge in the area was damaged by storm.

Part of the San Roque National Road that connects towns in Northern Samar was destroyed by the strong river currents during typhoon Kammuri.

Footage taken today (04/12) shows the locals using bamboo rafts and small boats to get in and out of their village.

Around 345,000 people affected by the typhoon are still in evacuation centers awaiting clearance, but some have started to return home and check the damage on their properties.

National disaster officials have yet to release an official number, but at least 13 people died in the Luzon and Visayas islands in the Philippines because of the typhoon, while thousands have lost their homes and livelihood.

Kammuri, a rare December typhoon, is the strongest to have hit the country this year.
