CCTV footage caught the inside of toll booth after it smashed by a speeding truck in north India.

The incident happened on December 3 around 12:30pm at the Barojar toll plaza in Kanpur Dehat, Uttar Pradesh.

According to the toll plaza manager, a large container truck using FASTag, an electronic toll paying system, was driving towards the gate when it lost control and struck the station at high speed.

Toll booth employee Karunakar Pandey, who was sitting behind the booth counter, can be seen being thrown back from his seat after the hit.

The driver of the truck tried to escape but was caught and handed over to police. Karunakar Pandey luckily escaped with no injuries.
