A passenger at an Indian train station narrowly missed being hit by a train when quick-thinking security personnel pushed him out of its path.

The incident took place the night of December 3, when RPF Constable Anil Kumar was on duty at Thane station, Maharashtra, and spotted a man trying to cross the train tracks on foot.

Kumar spotted a rapidly approaching train, and that the crossing man had seemingly frozen in its path, prompting the officer to jump off the platform and push him out of the way.

The train driver pulled the emergency brake and luckily both men on the tracks escaped unharmed.

The man attempting to cross was identified as Baban Radhakishan Sonwane, 55, and was trying to get the train to Jalna from the opposite platform when he was surprised by the arriving train service.

On 03.12.2019 at about 22.29 hrs RPF Constable Anil Kumar deputed for Preventation and detection of Passenger belonging Theft . During which he noticed One person trying to cross the Railways track from PF NO 06 to PF NO 07 Kalyan end in confuse manner . In the meantime Anil noticed train no 18029 was arriving on platform no 07,on blowing horn , the man was confused. on seeing this CT Anil Kumar acted promptly and without any caring of his life he jump on track to save the life of passenger and lift him up on platform no 07. The Loco Pilot of said train pulled emergency break and stoped the train. Later on a rescue passenger was brought to RPF Post Thane and enquired his disclosed his Name – Baban Radhakishan Sonwane Age 55 yrs R/o At Po – Ghansavangi , Tal – Dist – Jalna.and he stated that he was going to Jalna with his family which was on pf no 07 and he was on PF No 06 when he saw train coming on platform no 07 to catch the train he crossed the railway track CT Anil Kumar without caring for own safety and using presence of mind, swung into action and saved the life of passenger.
