Heartwarming scenes unfolded in northern India as a female monkey adopted a newborn puppy, in a touching show of inter-species harmony.

According to reports, the simian mother was filmed with her puppy on December 4 in Haridwar, Uttarakhand.

When a woman saw the monkey grabbing the little puppy, she informed the forest department about it. The forest officials came and rescued the puppy and also freed the monkey.

The monkey was seen holding the pup in its arms attentively as people gathered to click photos and videos of them.

According to reports, the incident took place on Dec. 04 in Haridwar, Uttarakhand.

A puppy that was being carried around by a female monkey was rescued by the Haridwar Division Forest Department on Wednesday. When a woman saw the monkey grabbing the little puppy, she informed the forest department about it. The forest officials came and rescued the puppy and also freed the monkey.

This is not the first time that a monkey was seen caring for a puppy. In 2017, in Kareli, Allahabad, a monkey was seen carrying around a stray puppy.

The monkey was seen holding the pup in its arms attentively as people gathered to click photos and videos of them.
