Night chill continued as the minimum temperature remained sub-zero in Kashmir valley, where dense fog, coupled with icy cold winds, disrupted normal traffic in the morning.
A per Met department weather will remain dry during the next 24 hours in the Kashmir valley. There will be no change in the weather during the subsequent 48 hours, adding due to open sky and dry weather, the minimum temperature will remain below normal though maximum temperature could be near or above normal.
Very dense fog, coupled with icy cold winds, this morning badly hit normal work, particularly traffic movement in summer capital, Srinagar, where people remained indoor due to sub zero temperature. Vehicles were plying with headlights on. However, visibility improved as the day progress.
Though there was slight improvement in the minimum temperature, but it was still below normal, he said.
The offical further said Srinagar witnessed 0.5 notch improvement in the minimum temperature against yesterday, but it was still over two degree below normal. Against yesterdays minus 3.5 degree, it was minus 3 degree today,
