Footage shows a mountain in northern Thailand where the temperature dropped to -1 today - the lowest of the year so far.

Dozens of tourists gathered on the peak of the Doi Inthanon mountain in Chiang Mai province to take in the chilly spectacle.

The country is experiencing a cold snap which has so far claimed the lives of at least four people, including a two-month-old baby.

Dr Chatuchai Maneerat reminded both locals and tourists to keep themselves warm to prevent getting sick from the cool weather.

He said: "The people should be not too excited with the cold weather and forget about keeping themselves warm because it's easy to become ill.

"The hospitals across the region are now prepared to take care of patients that might be affected by the cold weather."
