A Thai man miraculously survived after crashing his motorcycle and being stuck under the wreckage for three days.

Samrouy Seangprachan, 53, skidded off the road and plunged down a 13ft grass bank in Phranakhon Sri Ayutthaya, central Thailand in the evening of December 2 evening.

He tried to call for help all night but his cries went in vain - before he gave up hope and closed his eyes expecting to die.

Another two nights passed by until by chance, a local was scouring the area for his missing dog when he noticed the stranded motorcycle rider on December 5.

Police and rescue officers arrived at the scene where they found Samrouy barely conscious and with deep wounds.

Samruay said that he had waited for three days after falling down.

He said: "I stopped calling for help and stopped moving after one night. I just gave up. I had the accident and I thought I was lucky to survive, but then I could not move and nobody heard me. I began to despair and my strength disappeared.''

Rescuer Khannaphat Suriseang, 30, said the injured man was drained of his strength when he was found. He could barely speak.

Khannaphat said: "The motorcyclist had big wounds all over his chest and waist. He appeared thirsty and weary.

"The team lifted him up and he was sent to the nearby hospital. It is unbelievable that he survived so long while injured and without food and water.''
