Eve-teaser gets sound thrashing from lady cop for harassing girls in northern India
Taking cognisance of a harassment complaint filed by female college students, a lady cop thrashed the alleged male eve-teaser in the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
The incident took place in Kanpur district’s Bithoor town on December 10.
Visuals show the man getting beaten up by a lady police officer outside an educational institute as the onlookers cheer on.
The situation unfolded when the students lodged a complaint at the police station, informing about the eve-teasers whom they encountered on the way to college.
To capture the alleged harassers, the police, who go by their self-styled name ‘Anti Romeo Squad’, concealed themselves in the crowd.
When the harassers started passing lewd comments, they were immediately caught by the law enforcement officers present at the scene.
The alleged harasser was immediately thrashed by the lady constable, Chanchal Chaurasia, who hit him 23 times with a shoe within a span of 27 seconds.
She also questioned his obscene behaviour and whether he would have done the same to his mother or sisters at home.
The man, identified as Arvind, apologised for his actions.
Later, another accused was taken to the police station and a case under section 294 of the Indian Penal Code was registered against him.
