A video, from Wednesday (December 11), has emerged showing an elephant appearing to attack a biker in the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha in southeastern India, between Kujiam village and Jethma Village.

The filmer told Newsflare: "The biker on seeing the elephant emerge out of the forest, left his vehicle on the spot and fled. The elephant then became enraged for some reason and smashed the bike into a metal junk as the biker and others watched the event helplessly from a distance.

"The biker, named Harish Kumar Soy, and others who watched the tusker crash the vehicle under its feet are heard shouting in order to scare it but that doesn’t work.

"The biker escaped unhurt but had to pay with his recently purchased bike in exchange for his life."
